The Security Envelopes Series
Ana’s works on paper utilize a similar philosophy to her ceramics by utilizing everyday, ephemeral materials as the main medium. She primarily works with collage and has focused on two distinct bodies of work; the Hybrid Species series and the Security Envelopes series.

Security envelopes protect their contents by disguising the information within. But what happens when the envelope is turned inside out? Not only are beautiful patterns revealed but the function of this simple object is reversed no longer protecting but rather revealing itself. Ana uses the envelopes to ‘paint’ collages of various themes and subjects.
